i'm back...regretfully early but STILL it was GREAT!!!!

i was so freakin' nervous. but when i finally saw him, it was like i just saw him yesterday, not 2 years ago. everything felt so natural. you know how it can be when you meet up with people you haven't seen in awhile? like it's all awkward and weird and you regret being there as soon as you come? it wasn't like that. we drove into the next city and found a place to sit and talk. [my apartment would have been too comfortable too quickly. we needed neutral territory.] we spent 3 hours updating each other. then got down to business. see, the reason why we even met up was to see if we could be friends again. [QUICK HISTORY: friends then dated then broke up because things got complicated way fast and ended up with all this unresolved crap laying around for the past 2 years.] he told me that he could be friends with me and that he didn't have any attachments that would complicate things (i.e., a girlfriend). i told him that i did have a boyfriend. and you know, i know he was trying to play it off like oh-i-figured but it threw him. but you know what threw me? he just recently had broke up with someone!! here i was thinking he was so broken up over us that he was still closed off.

when we were driving back to my place, he had that song from the dirty dancing soundtrack on (eric carmen's hungry eyes). we both started singing to the chorus. that says tons to me. i am really self consious about my singing so for me to be able to do that with you means i really REALLY trust you.

so this is our decision...we are gonna be friends...somewhere between the kind of friends who talk to each other everyday and the ones who see each other once a year. i think we have something nice going. i am gonna try VERY hard not to mess it up this time.
